About Bunchgrass Grazing

With over a decade of hands-on experience in regenerative land management, ecological education, and construction, owner Nic Moss brings a rare blend of practical skill, environmental vision, and leadership to every project. As the owner of Bunchgrass Grazing, him and his team have coordinated and implemented regenerative grazing systems across public and private lands on the Central Coast for the past 6 years. This work is rooted in enhancing soil health, biodiversity, and ecosystem resilience and includes partnerships with the City of San Luis Obispo, Greenspace Land Trust, Willow Creek Conservancy and several local regenerative vineyards—balancing livestock management with ecological restoration goals.

Previously, Nic served as Site Manager and Instructor at Weaving Earth, where he coordinated facilities maintenance, guided students through experiential education, and led multi-day wilderness trips emphasizing safety, teamwork, and deep connection to nature. As a Lead Instructor with 1 Revolution Adventures, he facilitated transformative outdoor expeditions for teens that nurtured resilience, ecological awareness, and personal growth.

An Eagle Scout and certified tracker, Nic holds certifications in Permaculture Design and Nature Connection education, with advanced training in CyberTracker track and sign identification and bird language instruction.

Whether managing landscapes, leading people, or building structures, Nic approaches each endeavor with integrity, adaptability, and a deep respect for the natural world.

Nic lives with his wife, Sadie and daughters in North County where they enjoy gardening, crafts and feasting with friends.

Our Crew

Connecting community is a foundational goal of our business because we believe that healthy and connected humans create a healthy and connected world. In this way, soil healty = human health. With this, we call on a ragtag crew of very skilled humans to care for our flock which includes feeding dogs, moving fence, doctoring animals, shearing and all of the other things that come up when caring for a couple hundred animals. If you are interested in helping, please reach out to be notified when we have opportunities open.
